About Couples Counselling
Are you a couple who feel you have lost your way and are not enjoying each other as you once did? Are you unable to communicate, be heard or seen anymore? Maybe you are trying to get over an infidelity, or perhaps one of you is dealing with a big life event and you are unable to support each other. Maybe there are problems and stresses of raising a family or issues arising in later life. Has the spark gone in your long term relationships? Is there limited intimacy, or is your sex life not where you would like it to be? Would you like your friend back?
There are so many reasons why couples seek relationship therapy. With the right support you can often find a new lease of life in your partnership or marriage, sometimes richer than you thought possible.
Sadly sometimes couples decide to part ways and seek help in finding an amicable ending. I can offer support through this difficult time.
I will be there to facilitate and help improve communication, giving you both the space to be heard. I will not take sides, but help you both feel valued, heard and respected.
What to Expect
After an initial chat, I will invite you to attend an assessment session to gain more information, get some background and take a history. After our first session, I will then invite you to attend individually over the following two weeks. This gives me time to get you know you more on a one to one basis and helps me understand you more as a couple. We will meet the same time every week to create a consistent therapeutic space for you both.
Every 8 weeks we will review our work together. Sometimes if couples are in a stable place at this stage, appointments can go to fortnightly to maintain the work we have done.
If you would like to arrange a free 15 minute phone chat or a mini Zoom meet, please contact me.
